Journal #8

Racism:
With her red siren hair, the heavy Irish accented woman guided through the expensive racks of clothing, until the sale associate suggested her towards the clearance section.

Injustice:
Tumbling with bags in each arm Shimah sought to find a seat on the crowded train, finding an available seat at the rear corner next to an elder white woman. Just as Shimah was about to take the seat, the woman placed her bag on the seat with a defiant glare.

Salvation:
Submerged under pounds of wild freezing water, Victor’s vision was blurred yet his mind raced with what he thought would be his final thoughts. When all of the sudden he was lifted from the water, gasping for breath as water spew from Victor’s mouth, his throat raw and body heavy from just being lifted from the rapid river.

Evil:
Driving down the street as the school let its students free for the weekend break, the driver spotted the lone child as she walked home. Pulling the van slowly next to the child, the driver secured his gloves and opened the van door.

Ambition:

The young girl watched as the teacher danced before the class, her limbs flying elegantly through the air, a swan-like figure. Kim looked down at herself and her leotard, trying to imagine herself like her teacher, then started to stretch while watching her teacher.

Poverty:
The small, starving girl wrapped her covers around her body as she curled herself into a ball, trying to warm herself up with her own body heat. She closed her eyes, tightening the covers around her as she began to shiver through the night, hoping for the morning to come sooner.
Wealth:
Leading his band of friends through the grungy neighborhood, a tall, well-dressed teen walked into the public school nearby. He smirked as all the students turned their heads to look at him as he walked through the halls, strutting into the principal's office.

Growing Old:

He stumbled towards the kitchen, depending on the wall and tables for support. He refused to acknowledge his cane as he opened his kitchen cabinet and a multitude of prescription  pills stared back at him.

Sexual Deceit
He walked up  the stairs slowly approaching his bedroom, walking around what he believed to be his wife's clothing. He smiles upon opening his bedroom door only to find two bodies intertwined in one a familiar one and a stranger, female and female.

Growing Up:
She removed all her teddy bears from her top shelve, ripped down her Sailor Moon posters and threw out her pink bed spreads. She stuffed her shelve with make up, hung up pictures of the Backstreet Boys, and covered her bed in cheetah print.
